What to Do With Your Luggage on a Shanghai Disneyland Day Trip: Go Straight to the Park, Send Bags to Your City Hotel
Many people plan their Shanghai trip like this: stay around the Bund or People's Square, and set aside one day for Disney. If that day happens to be your arrival day, you face three problems:
- The park does not accept suitcases: Shanghai Disneyland bans wheeled suitcases of any size, and bags larger than 56×36×23 cm are not allowed either.
- Your hotel room isn't ready yet: You land between morning and noon, but city hotels usually only check in guests in the afternoon.
- You still have to get back to the city: Dragging luggage through metro transfers at night is exhausting.
The fix is simple: hand your luggage to us at the airport and we deliver it to your city hotel. You go to Disney empty-handed, and come back to the city empty-handed, with your luggage already at the front desk.
1. Know the distances first: Pudong, Hongqiao, the city, and Disney

- Pudong Airport is the farthest airport from the city, but Disney is actually closer to it than the city is, so going straight from Pudong to the park works well.
- Times are compiled from several travel websites (checked 2026-10-19). Sources differ a lot, so rely on a map or ride-hailing app for actual times.
2. Arrival day: drop your bags at the airport, go to Disney empty-handed
LUGGAGENT's airport drop-off hours are 09:00–18:00. If you land between morning and noon:
- After collecting your luggage, hand it to us at the airport.
- Take a ride straight to Disney with nothing to carry.
- Your luggage is delivered to your city hotel front desk before 21:00 (to get it there earlier, choose delivery before 18:00 for an extra US$35).
It's fine if your hotel can't check you in until the afternoon. Your luggage waits at the front desk, but please confirm when booking that the hotel can accept it.
If you land in the evening, airport drop-off after 18:00 isn't available, so it's more practical to keep your luggage with you.
Price: Pudong Airport → Shanghai city US$38 (2 bags), plus US$12 for each additional bag.
3. After the park: back to the city empty-handed
The park doesn't accept suitcases. The resort has a paid luggage storage, but stored bags must be picked up the same day. Send your big luggage to the city hotel first and you won't have to worry about it inside the park.
After a full day at the park, take Metro Line 11 with a transfer or a ride-hail car back to the city. When you reach the hotel, your luggage is already at the front desk and you can check in right away.
4. Last day: city hotel to the airport
On check-out day, hand your luggage to the city hotel front desk before 11:00. It goes straight to Pudong Airport and is handed back to you at the agreed time slot (at least 120 minutes before departure). Airport delivery between 15:00 and 21:00 has no surcharge; after 21:00 is optional but costs extra.

5. Starting from Hongqiao Airport or the cruise terminal
Hongqiao Airport: There is no direct metro from Hongqiao to Disney, so sending your luggage ahead is even more worthwhile.
Price: Hongqiao Airport → Shanghai city US$35 (2 bags), plus US$12 for each additional bag.
Cruise passengers: Shanghai's Wusongkou International Cruise Terminal is in Baoshan District, quite far from the city center, and getting from the terminal to the city takes a shuttle bus and then the metro. The most common situation on disembarkation day is leaving the ship in the morning while the hotel can't check you in until the afternoon. Send your luggage to the city hotel first and you can go straight out to play.
Price: Wusongkou Cruise Terminal → Shanghai city US$55 (2 bags), plus US$12 for each additional bag.
Includes the US$20 cruise terminal fee.

7. Sample 3-day, 2-night itinerary
Day 1: Arrive → Disney → city
- Land between morning and noon, hand your luggage to us at Pudong Airport, and we deliver it to your city hotel
- Go straight to Disney empty-handed, play all day, then take the metro or a ride-hail car back to the city in the evening. Your luggage is already at the front desk
Day 2: A day in the city
- Yuyuan Garden, City God Temple, Nanjing Road, the Bund at night
Day 3: Heading home
- Hand your luggage to the hotel front desk before 11:00 for delivery to Pudong Airport
- Wander empty-handed until the afternoon, then go to the airport to pick up your luggage and check in
8. FAQ
Q1: Can I take a suitcase into Shanghai Disneyland? No. Wheeled suitcases of any size are not allowed in the park, and neither are bags larger than 56×36×23 cm (Shanghai Disney Resort guest rules). The resort has a paid luggage storage, and stored bags must be collected the same day (official luggage storage information).
Q2: Can LUGGAGENT deliver from the airport to a city hotel? Yes. Prices are available between Pudong Airport, Hongqiao Airport, Wusongkou Cruise Terminal and Shanghai city; see section 6.
Q3: What time does the luggage arrive at the hotel? What if the room isn't ready? Hotel delivery can be before 21:00, or before 18:00 (extra US$35). Most hotels will hold luggage at the front desk first, so please confirm when booking that the hotel can accept it. Airport drop-off hours are 09:00–18:00.
Q4: How far ahead do I need to book? For hotel and airport orders, book by 11:00 at least 1 day before the service date; if the pickup or delivery address is a guesthouse or private rental, book by 11:00 at least 3 days before. Booking 30 or more days ahead gets a 5% early-bird discount on the fare.
Q5: Can I use it if I'm staying at a guesthouse or Airbnb? Yes, but each end that is a guesthouse adds US$25, and the booking deadline is earlier (see Q4).
Q6: What if my luggage is lost or damaged? Every bag comes with insurance of up to US$500, covering luggage delay and loss; for higher coverage you can add up to US$3,000 per bag. Cosmetic or non-structural damage such as scratches, dents, wheels and zippers is not covered. Each bag must weigh no more than 32 kg, and the sum of length, width and height must not exceed 180 cm.
