Transportation to Mount Fuji

There are year-round buses you can take to Mt Fuji from Tokyo. The Fujikyuko Express Bus called Yamanako Hirano from the Shinjuku Expressway Bus Terminal, operates daily from 7:15 AM to 10:25 PM, departing hourly.

The ride to Fuji-Q Highland takes around 1 hour and 40 minutes, with eight stops along the way. If you continue to Mount Fuji Station, the journey extends to about 2 hours, covering ten stops in total.

The last bus to Shinjuku leaves Fuji-Q Highland at 8:23PM and at 8:04PM from Mount Fuji Station.

The bus fare is approximately ¥ 2,200, but you can purchase it online for a discounted price of ¥ 2,000

From July 1, 2024, to August 31, 2024, the bus service to Mount Fuji's Fifth Station will be in operation. The Fuji Subaru Line 5th Station is halfway along the Yoshida Trail, which ascends from Fujiyoshida Sengen Shrine at the base to the summit of Mount Fuji.

The bus fare is approximately ¥ 3,800, reduced to ¥ 3,500 when bought online.

Note: Starting July 1, 2024, the Fifth Station Line won’t stop at the Kawaguchiko Station and Fuji-Q Highland, so if you are heading to those attractions make sure to take the Yamanako Hirano bus instead.
